After 8 hours (three of them pushing) of labor, six years ago today, Malia came into our family. We have enjoyed her from day one. She loves everyone and is one of the sweetest kids ever. She comes up with some of the funniest things to say. One thing that comes to my mind right off the bat is about a year ago I asked her make her bed. Now when she sleeps in her bed she doesn't sleep under the covers, she sleeps on top with flower blankey. So all she had to do was fold up flower blanky. When I looked in on her she was pulling her sheets and quilt down to the end of the bed and ruffling up the sheet. So I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was making her bed. I said "that 's not how we make our beds!" and she said " but that's how you make yours" I died laughing. From then on I have tried hard to make sure that my bed gets made everyday since she is watching me that close. I love you Mia and I am thankful to have such a loving and funny little girl.
So we had Mia's 6th birthday party today. When I asked her what kind of party she wanted to have she said a Santa party. So I was trying hard to think of ways we could make it a Santa party. Then I thought that we should have Santa come to the party. So I made arrangements to have Santa come to our party. He came and all the kids loved him. He brought them all a gift and let them tell him what they wanted for Christmas. After everyone had a turn then Santa asked for a group hug and all the kids loved that. I think that this a party Malia will remember for a long time. Along with the surprise party she had last year. That is a whole other very funny story.
